Frequently Asked Questions

What types of commercial heating systems are there?

It can be very confusing when looking at new or replacement systems.  With our 50 years of experience in the commercial heating industry, we can quote for a range of systems that will be tailored for your individual requirements.

Warm Air Systems

This can be a floor-standing heater, which blows warm air through outlets at the top of the unit. It can also be a suspended heater that is hung in the air and blows into the space.  This particular type is used in commercial, industrial factories and retail spaces.

Wet systems

This system consists of a boiler and either radiators or some other water-using heat emitter.  This is generally used to heat offices, homes and washrooms with either heating only or heating and hot water.

Radiant tube heater

This consists of a tube suspended in the ceiling which radiates heat directly downwards. This is commonly referred to as an Ambirad tube heater but there are several manufacturers of this unit. It is used to heat an area locally where total heating of the space is not required - for example, a packing area in a large warehouse where only a few people work.

What is commercial plumbing?

This relates to hot and cold water systems that are used in factories, retail and offices.  You may have large requirements of hot and cold water and a large washroom.  Fortunately, commercial plumbing is on a larger scale compared with domestic plumbing.

What is a ventilation system?

This is a system that provides fresh air into offices and workspaces via a fan and ducting or wall fans.  Units can also do both, supply air and extract air, and these are currently known as air handing units (AHU).
